Airport Security
Since 9/11, airports have had to thwart an increasing array of
threats and address a myriad of vulnerabilities, the need for
advanced security systems has increased. In order to be truly secure,
a key technology must be chosen and implemented wisely.
ALIVE's Biometric Security Solutions provide airport officials options
regarding what type of biometric they would like to deploy, what type
of system they are interested in (for example, a controlled access system
via card readers) and where the systems would be best deployed.
Biometrics, i.e. recognizing and authenticating individuals based on unique biological
data, are able to provide "one-to-one" authentication of individuals and
virtually eliminate the ability to assume someone elses identity.
For employees,
most who are already familiar with a card or badge system, it would
simply be a second level of authentication. It would verify that the
person in possession of the card or badge was the exact person to which
the card or badge belonged. Controlled entry, via access card readers
and Multi-Dimensional facial recognition portals, of authorized personnel to secured
areas would assist management in:
Tracking employee movement within the airport
Assist in monitoring any suspicious activity
Securing areas where non-employees should not be
System Reports and Administration
All access requests, both authorized and denied, are sent to the host for
storage and annunciation, giving the management personnel all the necessary
information (date, time, cardholder name, facial image of the person presenting
the card, and area where access was attempted, and even digital video of an
event) should an investigation of any sort be deemed necessary.
To stay ahead of terrorists who would do us harm, it
is vitally important that TSA always develop, select and
deploy cutting edge technology.
Adm James M. Loy, TSA Administrator
ALIVE has installed its Multi-Dimensional Facial Recognition Access Control Solution
in a confidential access control project at a major international airport
which has been in place for over 36 months. During the course of this
project, we have had a 0% False Acceptance Rate (meaning no unauthorized
personnel were able to gain access).
ALIVE's Multi-Dimensional Facial Recognition Access Control System (by Geometrix, Inc.)
completed evaluation at a TSA Test Facility in Knoxville, TN. The report
indicated that the Geometrix solution was the only facial recognition that
thay had been unable to spoof. Out of 538 attempts to defeat the system
there were no successful attempts. This system is applicable for
nearly every point of access in an airport.
ALIVE, Tech, Inc., G5 Technologies and Siemens Maintenance Services,
LLC. deploy Multi-Dimensional Facial Recognition System at the Helena Regional
Airport as part of a TSA Funded researach and development
initiative.
